The Donegal Angling Tourism Alliance (DATA) was formed by game angling clubs and marine charter vessel owners as a cooperative marketing initiative. The main aim of the alliance was to promote the Donegal angling brand around the world.
The main contract was to develop a website that sells angling holidays directly from a map – so that people can see clearly where their angling is in relation to accommodation providers in the Donegal area.
Each accommodation and angling member of the alliance can login to the backend of the website and control their profile information including their dedicated allocation based booking system. The website allows the visitor to book multiple angling and accommodation services online and pay for them. The website booking engine is allocation based so a vendor cannot oversell their services.
We ran training courses for accommodation and angling providers in Letterkenny on how they can maintain their presence on the website. The website is now under the ownership of the government department Inland Fisheries Ireland.
